It is recommended by the United States govenment that all citizens traveling to Estonia, should register with the U.S. embassy or consulate. Estonia is a relatively safe country to travel in, but by registering at the travel registration website of the State Department, you will receive the latest information related to traveling to Estonia.

We learned that U.S. citizens traveling to Estonia only need a valid U.S. passport. I did not need to apply for a visitor visa as long as my stay was for up to 90 days. This also means that you can only be in the country for 90 days during a 6 month period. So keep this in mind if making multiple trips within this time period as well. We do recommend to check with the websites of both countries embassies before traveling. It is nice to know that you have as much information as possible to make your travel to and time spent in Estonia as pleasant as possible.

The U.S. Embassy is very near to the Old Town of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.
